Steins;Gate: Makise Kurisu

MoeHaku 2010 paid host to a fair amount of official cosplayers to accompany the anime-themed cars, bicycles, motorcycles, and even a bus on display for public viewing.

And as usual, it appears my loyal readers are on top of things, as I have a mountain of cosplay photos from the event! Thanks a lot guys!

Unfortunately, one of the first photos that caught my eye was a character I am unfamiliar with. Anyone care to take a guess as to who this cute girl is? Thanks to 2chMod for sending this in!

EDIT: Thanks to anon for mentioning she is Makise Kurisu from the Xbox game, Steins;Gate!

Dragon Ball: Launch

I feel like she's glaring at me for not knowing who she's cosplaying as... A glare with a pout combination from a cute girl can be quite deadly to die hard otakus as far as I know.

And I know that I've seen here somewhere before, but it's at the tip of my brain! So if anyone recognizes this blonde, female character with a huge, red bow on her hair, please feel free to leave a comment and let me know! Links to references are welcome!

EDIT: Thanks to Sheik-chan for letting us know this is Launch from Dragon Ball!

Sekirei: Musubi

I have no idea who this one is either, but she's from Winter Comiket 2009, and she looks like a fighter to me. Maybe she's from a game I haven't played yet?

I have to admit though, her costume is really cute. I love the ribbon details on her outfit. Who knew you could string the ribbons on your stockings?

Guesses are definitely welcome! Oh, and in case you're wondering why I don't reply to emails lately, it's because I have too many contributions coming in! I will try to feature them all, so please be patient with me! Thank you for all the beautiful photos! Keep sending, and keep a look out for new posts on Cosplay Holic!

EDIT: Thanks to anon and Furei for commenting that this is Musubi from Sekirei!

Hetalia: Axis Powers: Italy Romano and Italy Veneziano

I bet people guessed this was coming...

Winter Comiket's flood of cosplays are not over yet! There are several more photos sent to that were impressive and cute, but I have no idea who they are cosplaying!

Take these two for example. Pure white clothing and they are holding what appears to be... apples. tomatoes! Could they be cosplaying twin characters? Or is the same character cosplayed by two people?

Take a guess and let me know! And yes, posting links for unknown entries as references is completely acceptable, but those who want to contribute, please be sure to email them instead in kurohiko at gmail dot com. Otherwise, comments with links in other posts will be deleted. Thank you for understanding!

EDIT: Thanks to anon for letting me know they are Romano and Italy from Hetalia! ...and that those are tomatoes, not apples.

One Piece: Sanji and Nico Robin

With all the submissions I’ve received from Winter Comiket, I realize that I’m way behind on my anime and manga series.

Perhaps you guys can help me out with this one? I mean… I've seen a lot of bizarre anime series before, but what’s a chef and a cowgirl doing together?

I see a bunny girl and a Miku behind them... Haha! How terrible of me to know the ones in the background and not the foreground!

EDIT: Thanks to akadirgun for commenting that this is Sanji and Nico Robin of One Piece!

Strawberry Panic!: Okuwaka Tsubomi

This is probably the last unknown cosplay for the year. Wow, how long has it been since I started writing about cosplays? It's so nostalgic now that I think about it.

Anyway, pink haired girl with a black headband in an expensive looking school uniform... She's really pretty, and this is another image by photographer MPZero. I think I'll need to have sections for photographers too someday, but I have so many tags already that people might think it's confusing...

So! Any guesses? Please leave comments on this entry if you know who the cosplayer is or who she is cosplaying as!

EDIT: Thanks to FHead for commenting that she is Okuwaka Tsubomi from Strawberry Panic!

Dead or Alive: Lei Fang

I actually know this one.

Or should know this one.

She's fairly famous, both the cosplayer and the character, but I've been beating my head about her for a month now and I still don't remember which fighting game she's from.

I must be getting old.

Someone please tell me what character she's cosplaying?

Pretty please?

...wasn't it a "Mai" something?

EDIT: Thanks to Sweet and Horror for commenting to say this is Lei Fang from the Dead or Alive Series!

The Prince of Tennis: Niou Masaharu

There has been a steady stream of unknowns lately. I think I should get myself updated with the latest anime and games.

If only I had more time in my hands. But I guess that’s what they all say right?

Alright, we have a white haired bishounen this week! He could probably be anyone, but the design of his jacket might set him apart from everyone else. Any guesses would be appreciated, but I hope more people would leave their names this time when they comment! Even if you don’t have a website, you can just leave that field blank, and your name will still register in the name/url choice. Thank you to everyone who has been pointing me to the cosplayers’ websites!

EDIT: Thanks to anon for letting me know this is Niou Masaharu from the Prince of Tennis!

World of Warcraft: Valeera Sanguinar

This is probably from another game that I have no clue about. There are so many MMORPGs lately that it’s really hard to keep up with everything that’s been going on as of late. I’m really glad a lot of the unknown cosplays are finally getting labeled and categorized properly.

So, guesses? My closest guess is that this is from Ragnarok, but other than that, your guess is as good as mine.

Help please?

EDIT: By popular opinion, this is a cosplay of Valeera Sanguinar from World of Warcraft! Thanks to Maddog for the comment, and the anons who agreed with him! (Or is it her?)

Birdy the Mighty: Birdy Cephon Altera

It wouldn’t be a long shot to say I have no idea where this character is from. Frankly, she could be from a Marvel Superhero Comic, and that still wouldn’t narrow things down.

The outfit looks really difficult to move in though, with the side open like that. Private, professional, photo shoot probably?

Any guesses would be appreciated, thank you!

Zone-00: Okino Miyoko

I have a sinking feeling I should know this character.

I recall seeing a game cover with a girl portrait on it, looking eerily similar to this cosplayer. However, I'm also pretty sure that game's model had more eye make-up on her.

Does anyone know which one I'm talking about? It's a fairly recent game I believe.

Anyway, if anyone knows who this cosplayer is, drop me a note? As well as any other unknown cosplay I might still have in this category. Thanks! I appreciate it very much!

EDIT: Thanks to anon who commented saying this is from the manga series, Zone-00!

Touhou Project: Izayoi Sakuya

There's always a fair amount of French Maid cosplays in Anime Conventions that I find it hard trying to keep up with all of them.

She looks like she's cosplaying a specific character with the details she put into her hair and the straps on her leg. I'm wondering if that clip on her apron was also done on purpose. Compared to the other French maid cosplayer I feature a while back, I think she'll be easier to guess.

Any takers?

EDIT: Thanks to anonymous for leaving a comment saying this is Izayoi Sakuya of Touhou Project! I hope people leave their names next time, though.

Sengoku Basara: Nouhime

Things have been pretty hectic around here that I haven't had time to update my blog. I hope I didn't let my readers down! But family and work is preventing me from taking care of Cosplay Holic.

Now then, this is a nice photo, even if you don't like cosplays. It looks like she purposefully painted the red sections of her kimono and the gold butterflies all around it. I'm not sure, but those look like fans she's waving around, right?

Any idea which game or anime she could be from?

EDIT: Many thanks to Blue for commenting here! This cosplay is Nouhime from Segoku Basara, "Devil Kings" a Playstation 2 Game in WCS 2008 China.

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion: Lelouch Lamperouge 02

I suppose the main problem with this is that the photo is so small that it's quite hard to make out all the little details of the cosplay. But even if it is small, I wanted to post it anyway because I really like it.

Maybe my readers can figure out who the character is? Or maybe even who the cosplayer is so that I can find a better resolution for this particular photo.

Any takers? Thoughts, guesses, or anything you can throw me at would be appreciated; thank you!

Dynasty Warriors: Xiao Qiao

It's been a while since I last posted an unknown cosplay.

Usually, a girl with large fans make me think of Temari from Naruto. But this cosplayer is certainly nothing like Temari, and her fans have a pretty specific design on them.

And I have no idea what anime, manga, or game she's from. Anyone have any good guesses?

I croped the original photo that I found in Photobucket. You can view the full size here.

EDIT: Thanks to Light-chan for commenting that the cosplayer is Xiao Qiao from Dynasty Warriors!

D. Gray-man: Kanda Yu

I didn't think I'd be coming across any unknown cosplays for a while, but this caught my attention after it was sent to me by a reader.

I wouldn't even think he was cosplaying, but it seems the mark on his chest is pretty significant. I have no idea what it means, and I'm not familiar with any anime or manga associated with it.

Thoughts anyone?

EDIT: Thanks to everyone who commented to let me know this is Kanda Yu from D. Gray-man! I only wish people would leave their names next time. ^^; And also thanks to Izzy for letting me know the cosplayer is known as Miyoc.

Shaman King: Marion Phauna

Time to go through my hard drive again to find some cosplays from several years ago!

Now this one I remember saving because I thought she was cosplaying Freya from Chobits. But now that I think about it, she’s not Freya at all, is she?

I’m pretty sure someone can shed some light on this… please and thank you!

EDIT: Thanks to Kuran Yuki for letting me know this is Marion from Shaman King! Here is her character description of Marion:

She's Asakura Hao's follower from Team Hanagumi. She always talks in third person and is usually very quiet but often says "Mari tsumanai" or "Mari is bored". She is also obsessed with Oyamada Manta.

Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne: Kaitou Sinbad

I have no idea where this cosplay is from, but I really like how the character looks so… blue!

Definitely someone people will recognize… I think? I really have no idea at this point, so a little help would be greatly appreciated!

Katekyo Hitman Reborn!: Sawada Tsunayoshi and Hibari Kyoya

Technically, he’s a poor student for falling asleep in class. But then again, this picture is so cute, I certainly don’t mind it.

But I have no idea what anime or game this is from. Perhaps you guys have a better idea? The coat has a significant armband on it, so that might be a clue…

EDIT: Thanks to Allenisya for commenting this is Sawada Tsunayoshi with Hibari Kyoya draping his coat over him! Aww...

Katekyo Hitman Reborn!: Superbi Squalo

I was trying to find the source of this picture from the clue at the bottom right corner where “kyoistheology” is written there.

Unfortunately, I came up with nothing.

The thing is, this cosplay is too generic to tell for certain. It could be Souma Ayame from Fruits Basket but I don’t remember a scene like this in the series.

Anyone have a better idea?

EDIT: Thank you, Mree, for commenting that this is Superbia Squalo from Katekyo Hitman Reborn!
