High Waisted Skirt in Velvet

Yes, I couldn't make myself not post this. This is how the skirt turned out, but this is only one of many versions of the skirt that can be made. I will include some in the tutorial and that is one of the reason it takes time.

It is made in cotton velvet and has shirring in the back and zipper in the side. It is a bit longer than the regular lolita-skirt but I like that, it won't be so cold in the winter then. I added a ruffle at the hem, cause I felt it needed that.

And I have changed the system for the comments. I think it is much easier now. ^^

Back and sewing!

I'm back! I didn't mean to take such long time on me to get this blog back in order or just making everything that I needed to do.

<--- Here is a preview of one of the things that I have been doing the lasted weeks. It is my 14th century dress that I made this summer for the medieval fair that I attended this last weekend. More of that comes soon.

So this weekend I will finally get my high waisted skirt tutorial up and running here on the blog. I have some tiny things to correct but that means it is almost done. To make up for the delay I will also include a give away. But what it contains is so far a secret.

So until the weekend comes I will work to get the tutorial and my give away done. Bye!

The German gaming site – gamestar.de managed to film some decent footage of The Old Republic.

Below is a Google translated snip from the article plus the movie:

In Cologne on the gamescom there is Bioware's highly anticipated online role-playing game Star Wars: The Old Republic to Preview. Michael Graf has looked at the demo, and played in the video with a Trooper - even if he had to create for themselves a real Storm Trooper. Michael's impressions and the video with the scenes, see below or in our gamescom area..

The German Fan Site (they have an English translation button) swtor-station.com had a good 15 min. of playtime today, were they gathered heaps of information. Amongst a detailed list of stuff, they confirmed that the Zabrak trooper was seen as a playable race. Here is a list of what they gathered:

  • 36 people can play at the booth at the same time.

  • The Jedi classes are not playable yet, but the remaining six classes are.

  • Character creation could not be seen, there are predefined characters.

  • We saw a Zabrak trooper. It looks like this species will also be available for this class to choose.

  • There are thin and big characters. It looks like body weight is going to be adjustable.

  • Voice.overs are completely in English at the booth.

  • The characters start right at the beginning and you can go as far as you can in 15 minutes.

  • If you open the map (via M) and continue walking the map becomes transparent so you can easily navigate to your next target

  • There are bonus quests which start automatically. If you reach a certain point on the map, a quest appears in your log. For example you have to kill K’lor slugs in the Valley of the Dark Lords on Korriban. Bonus quest give experience points once you finish them, you don’t have to bring them to an npc.

  • There are “Bind on Equip” items

  • There’s a system implemented, which allows you to bind you to a location to return quickly

  • There are class trainers, who allow you to buy new skills once you gain a certain level

The Old Republic's advanced Jedi Knight classes revealed

The Old Republic's advanced Jedi Knight classes revealed: "

When it comes down to it, the two specializations for Star Wars: The Old Republic's Jedi Knight class really determine what kind of a person you are in real life. For instance, are you an introspective, thoughtful so-and-so who prefers to hang near the back of a crowd, supporting your friends with encouraging words, ala the Guardian? Or do you like wildly flailing two lightsabers, like the Sentinel? Well, which is it? Compassion, or two lightsabers?

Check out the game's official site for more details on these two advanced classes, and check out the trailer after the jump to see what kind of hardships (and Sandships) the Jedi Knight will have to face in The Old Republic.

Star Wars the force unleashed review

The Old Republic's 'tunnel shooter' space combat explained

The Old Republic's 'tunnel shooter' space combat explained: "

Specifics about the recently announced space combat mechanics in LucasArts and BioWare's upcoming MMO, Star Wars: The Old Republic, have been awfully hard to come by. Rumors have circulated claiming the game's aerial component would resemble an on-rails shooter, while others say it would give players full control over their ship's movement. The real answer, as revealed by the October edition of PC Gamer, falls somewhere in between.

According to our MMO-friendly sister site Massively, the magazine explains that players will come across 'tunnel shooter' instances while traveling the stars, which will send them down a fixed path while giving them the ability to maneuver around obstacles and shoot enemies. These encounters will feature missions, achievements, cosmetic upgrades to your ship, and could eventually be opened up to PvP and co-op modes in the future. That actually sounds a lot like Kingdom Hearts' Gummi Ship segments, if that means anything to you.

Four new species revealed for Star Wars: The Old Republic

Four new species revealed for Star Wars: The Old Republic: "

Bioware's upcoming MMO about a galaxy far, far away offers four new choices for characters' species. Star Wars: The Old Republic adds four races: the Sith Pureblood, the original Sith race; the Miraluka, a blind species adept at using the Force to see; the Mirialans, a green-skinned people with strong natural agility; and, finally, the Zabraks -- like the Darth Maul lookalike you see above.

We've got screens of each newly-announced race in our gallery below. Last one to click through is a scruffy-looking Nerf herder!
