007: Blood Stone is 050 percent off on Amazon
Here's our insane theory: if enough people buy this today (like, eight million or so, depending on how many of these Amazon has in stock), then either Activision will reverse its decision to shutter Bizarre Creations, or some other company will become more eager to throw money at it.

Limbo drops to $10 on Xbox Live today
Act before the strike of midnight tonight, and you'll be able to get a copy of Limbo for 800 Microsoft Points ($10) -- a 33% discount from its original price. Nothing says 'happy new year' like running away from a menacing giant spider, while having a slug eating away at your brains.
We'd like to think it's in celebration of its esteemed position on the Joystiq Top 10 of 2010 list, but apparently it's just part of Microsoft's 'Countdown to 2011' promotion. That means in addition to Limbo, you can download the Kick-Ass movie for 29% off. Like peanut butter and pickles, this pairing makes so much sense.

New, and amazing, Tomb Raider screenshots
Game Informer has some brand new, and fairly awesome, screenshots of the Tomb Raider reboot available on their site. As much as I loved the early Tomb Raider games, I haven’t been able to get into one in a long time.
It looks like that’s about to change.

Who’s Sniping a Cameo in the Thor Movie?
Marvel’s been dropping cameos of their lesser-known heroes into their movies ever since they took charge of their film universe. Anyone who saw Iron Man or its sequel caught glimpses of heroes like Nick Fury or gear belonging to Thor or Captain America; it’s all part of an effort to unify the film universe and make it easy to introduce new characters. It appears that 2011’s Thor will be no exception to this rule — rumor has it that one of the stars of the upcoming Avengers movie will be making a cameo. And that Avenger is none other than Hawkeye! It’s just a rumor, for now, but it makes a heck of a lot more sense than the other recent rumor that Demi Lovato snagged an Avengers role.

Goodbye, Kodachrome
It’s the end of an era as far as hardcore photography enthusiasts are concerned. Today is the last day that the Eastman Kodak company will produce the last roll of the revolutionary color film: the Kodachrome.
Because of the emergence of digital photography, Kodak found that there was a decreasing demand for the classic film color which was a topic of a song by Paul Simon (”Kodachrome”), a name of a theme park and a staple of the best National Geographic photos.
The last r0ll of Kodachrome as not sold or processed. It was last developed in Parsons, Kansas by Dwayne’s Photo. Here’s the official word from Kodak
“KODACHROME Film is an iconic product and a testament to Kodak’s long and continuing leadership in imaging technology,” said Mary Jane Hellyar, the president of Kodak’s film, photofinishing and entertainment division.
“It was certainly a difficult decision to retire it, given its rich history. However, the majority of today’s photographers have voiced their preference to capture images with newer technology – both film and digital.”

The Old Republic vs. Knights of the Old Republic 3
In light of that - a notion that was also the feeling of countless other KOTOR fans - it's understandable how a lot of people were upset and disappointed when, instead of the Knights of the Old Republic 3 many people had been wanting and waiting for (and even expecting) we got The Old Republic. I was among this crowd, and still am to a point, even if I've warmed up greatly to TOR and am now really looking forward to it. Let's see, though, the good and bad points of TOR being made, and whether or not making TOR instead of KOTOR 3 was a good move on Bioware's part.
As everyone who has played the two KOTOR games knows, those games are very story and character-driven, dragging you in and not letting you go until the ending. We became attached to the characters - Revan, the Exile and all of our crew on the Ebon Hawk. Because of this, we want to see where they end up; who becomes a Jedi, who maybe even turns to the dark side, etc. Sure, we got a little bit of information at the end of KOTOR 2 - Disciple becoming a great Jedi was the most specific thing, however. The rest of it was just Kreia being vague. 'Atton is a fool, and the Force looks out for ones such as him.' Ah, that really gives us some solid info. Thanks, Kreia. Thanks alot.
My point being, considering how attached we did get to the characters and how great the story was, I still feel like we needed one last installment to wrap things up and conclude those specific story lines. For example, what happened to Revan when he went to find the True Sith? I know they're going to devote a whole part of TOR to this, but in a way, that's disappointing. I don't want that story to be told by exposition, but unfortunately, it seems that that will be the fate of that great plot line. We aren't going to get direct answers to many things, if anything at all - this game will be a couple of hundred years (if my memory is correct, at least) after the KOTOR games, so a great majority of the characters from those games will be dead and the galaxy will be in a total different state.
TOR is also going to be a vastly different gameplay experience than the KOTOR games - no, this time around we don't have a simple RPG like before. We have a World of Warcraft-type game now, but just - well, Star Wars. So it's like Empire at War. Except good this time.
Despite the fact that I do wish we had instead gotten KOTOR 3 rather than TOR, with so much of the latter being shown, I can't help but get excited and eager for the release. Let's face it, the game looks freakin' awesome - as I said above, it's WoW, but in SW form with an almost Mass Effect-type format, most notably with the fully voiced character and dialogue circle-type thing. The graphics look pretty fantastic, too, and this will definitely be the first MMO I play (well, I HAVE played World of Warcraft before, but that was only a trial. So... that doesn't count!).
The story also seems pretty intriguing. The Jedi and Sith at war with each other certainly isn't a new story, but in MMO format, and with the neat little tidbits we've been given, it certainly has the potential for epicness.
The fact that we can also play as a whole great variety of factions and species is awesome - I'm SO going to be a bounty hunter. Maybe a Chiss one. Hell yeah. It's rare when you can play something like a Miraluka or Rattataki in a video game, if only because those species are so much less known than something like a Twi'lek. Now if only they would add in Arkanians - after all, Jarael is a main character in the KOTOR comic series, so that would be perfect! Please Bioware? Please...??
There's also a whole great variation of planets to pick from to travel on - Nar Shaddaa, Ord Mantell, Ilum, Alderaan, Balmorra, just to name a few. I actually hope more planets are revealed, because with how big the game apparently is, there's certainly room for a few more really good ones - I mean, what, no Kashyyyk? Really? Boo!
To wrap this up, I would've loved more than anything had they chosen to instead make Knights of the Old Republic 3 rather than The Old Republic - something they want to be a sort of third installment, but we all know it really isn't. Despite that, however, I actually am looking forward to TOR - it should be a great playing experience, hopefully with a story that's just as good as the KOTOR games, and I plan on picking it up as soon as it comes out."

Review: Grendel: Behold the Devil
Grendel: Behold the Devil
Written & Illustrated by Matt Wagner
Lettered by Tom Orzechowski
Published by Dark Horse Comics
The latest book in Matt Wagner’s Grendel series is something of a homecoming. Wagner has revisited the series’ original protagonist Hunter Rose several times, notably in the Black, White and Red miniseries (and the Red, White and Black sequel), but in those instances, Wagner collaborated with other illustrators on short stories, each illuminating a tiny corner of Hunter Rose’s world and the Grendel milieu.
In Behold the Devil, Wagner takes up the art chores himself, drawing Hunter for the first time in a long while. He’s also telling a long-form story – this book first serialized in eight chapters – that promises to give readers a meatier look into Hunter Rose’s character.
On one hand, the book is smartly written and very well drawn. Wagner’s a master comic artist, witnessed in his iconic character designs and startling layouts. His ability to capture chaos or the balletic ebb and flow of a beautifully choreographed fight sequence is nearly unparalleled. Few artists can capture a dramatic beat as powerfully as Wagner, and fewer still can add strong character acting to the mix.
As for the story – taken on its own, Behold the Devil is compelling, a layered mystery, with plenty to keep readers guessing and strong character beats. On the other hand, few of the character beats haven’t been covered in previous Grendel stories. Behold the Devil is for hardcore Grendel fans (like me) who enjoy seeing Wagner’s talents on display or for neophyte Grendel readers. For casual Grendel readers, there’s not necessarily much new here. Behold the Devil’s still a good story, but I think I’d like to see Wagner creating something from whole cloth rather than revisiting Hunter at this point.

The 15 Worst Films of 2010
As the movies of 2010 comes to a close, it’s time to look back and revisit the finer points of cinema. But here at Film School Rejects, we like to turn the spotlight not just on the best, but also on the worst. This year has been a particularly rough year for movies as more films fizzled than we expected. With the year quickly coming to a close, it’s time to look back and realize which films didn’t just disappoint, but caused us the most pain.
So with the help of the entire staff here at FSR, our own curator of the wretched Kevin Carr has compiled the list of the year’s most unwatchable, unbearable and unfortunately unforgettable films — may there be mercy on the souls of anyone who endured all of these gems…
15. Jonah Hex
At a time when comic book movies seem to be at their heyday, the DC universe continued its stumbles (at least for non-Batman-related movies). We love Josh Brolin, and our very own Rob Hunter admits he finds Megan Fox to be “purdy,” but that didn’t stop the train wreck that was Jonah Hex. From development hell and an overworked script to a completely incomprehensible villain, the film was 81 minutes that reminded us this was the company that also brought us Catwoman.
14. Valentine’s Day
It was either this or Sex and the City 2 as the chick flick that made the guys on staff cringe. Garry Marshall has given us some decent films over the years, but this ensemble piece fell flat with uninspired storylines, cliches abound, bad acting and a forced “cameo” by Julia Roberts. Sure, it made bank at the box office, but since when do high B.O. returns mean quality filmmaking?
13. Legion
Some films are like a religious experience. Legion was a religious experience in a bad way. Paul Bettany plays the archangel Michael trying to save the savior of humanity in a diner in the Mojave Desert. How could that premise fail when you also feature a crotchety Dennis Quaid with an indiscernible accent, an old lady who swears before she climbs the walls and Tyrese Gibson throwing down some acting smack? Well, the filmmakers managed to do so.
12. Daybreakers
Remember when Ethan Hawke used to be a movie star? Like his vampire character in this film, his career appears to be alive but it is really dead inside, walking the earth to suck the life out of moviegoers. It is beyond us how a major studio can release a vampire film in this pop culture climate and fail to excite the public.
11. Frozen
Before Anchor Bay rolled the dice (and ended up with egg on their faces) with an unrated theatrical release of Adam Green’s Hatchet II, they rolled out Green’s icy thriller Frozen into theaters. With an intriguing premise of three skiers stranded on a ski lift in the middle of a snow storm, it didn’t have the writing and acting skills behind it to seal the deal.
10. A Nightmare on Elm Street
It seems that every year, the multiplexes are filled with remakes and sequels, and 2010 was no different. And nothing’s worse when a sequel not only fails to live up to the original film, but also fails to live up to the original’s many sequels. While it has some creepy moments, this remake of Wes Craven’s 1984 original features a cast of teenagers that are so forgettable that many found themselves rooting for Freddy Krueger.
9. Hereafter
When the days start to get shorter and the air gets a chill in it, film fans know that it’s time for the award-bait movies to be released. Clint Eastwood’s Hereafter is his latest grab at the Oscar, starring Matt Damon as a psychic who can talk to dead people. Sadly, as talented as the geriatric Clint Eastwood still is, his handling of this non-thriller, non-drama is about as exciting watching him drive to the store to pick up some prune juice.
8. The Bounty Hunter
Poor Gerard Butler. Poor, poor Gerard Butler. This guy cannot escape the albatross of bad rom coms around his neck. Last year, it was The Ugly Truth with Katherine Heigl. This year, it’s The Bounty Hunter with Jennifer Aniston. Look for Butler to star in some shitty romantic comedy with Kristen Bell or Reese Witherspoon in the future because this is apparently how he pays his rent now.
Click here to read on and enjoy the final 7 >>
